Ninth Grade Dance Information
Hello ninth grade families! Happy last week of school!!!
It’s time to roll out the red carpet! 💃 Our Ninth Grade "Red Carpet" Dance is Thursday night, June 11, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the CJH Commons. Here's everything you need to know to help your student have a fantastic evening:
Tickets:
Grab tickets before noon Thursday (6/11) at the student accounts window or online. No tickets will be sold at the door, and all ticket sales will close promptly at noon on Thursday.
Tickets are $12 with ASB and $15 without ASB.
Students must attend school for at least half the day on Thursday, June 11 (three or more periods).
This dance is for current CJH ninth graders only.
Students need their ID or a clear phone photo showing their full name, grade level, and picture.
We encourage students to line up between 6:50 and 7:00 PM at the commons doors nearest the CHS stadium by the basketball hoop. Please remember that the doors will close at 7:30 PM. We do not permit late entry, so arrive on time!
Before your student leaves your vehicle, we recommend you coordinate a pick-up spot at the front or back of the school. This will make things significantly smoother when everyone exits at once at 9:00 PM. Students must be off campus by 9:15 PM.
Additionally, backpacks, jackets, purses, and other non-essential items will be stored in coat check and will stay there until 8:55 PM, when coat check again opens for dismissal. We will remind students Wednesday afternoon that all school rules apply at school events, including dances. We expect respectful dancing (face-to-face with space between), feet on the ground, safe movement on the dance floor, and appropriate behavior. A review of our full list of dance expectations can be found in this memo.
Finally, what should your student wear? All of our dances are “come as you are," but we recognize that this dance marks a big event--the transition to Curtis High School. Students can dress casually or dress up in whatever makes your student feel great. Students must follow our dress code, though, making sure to cover undergarments, wear hard-soled shoes, and keep all garments school-appropriate.
Students not following expectations will have their parents contacted to be picked up early. We're committed to making sure everyone has a safe, fun, and memorable night celebrating the end of ninth grade.
If you have questions, please email Jennifer Zamira at jzamira@upsd83.org. Let's make this a night to remember!
